Shared Emergency - Public Service Class These pairs are required to be coordinated and conform to the following guidelines. Again, very limited protection is afforded these repeaters in their normal areas and none if in a portable state, out of their home area. This class is intended to serve ARES / RACES groups and other Emergency Communications groups.
1. Maximum ERP permitted will be that required not to exceed coverage radius. Any attempt to evolve to a larger coverage radius will result in de-coordination of the repeater. 2. CTCSS Tone Access is strongly suggested and the specific tone should conform to the ARC State Tone Plan or the tone can be assigned by the State Coordinator. In the event of interference between two repeaters of this class, it shall be considered a required step that the repeaters be made CTCSS Tone Accessible in the resolution of such interference. 3. Frequency Pairs are as follows: TX - 442.350 RX - 447.350 and TX - 442.550 RX - 447.550 (2 pairs) 4. Maximum Antenna height will be 50 ft. above ground level with NO permanent mountain top sites. 5. Repeater will be for Emergency and Public Service Use only, (I.e.; disasters, emergencies, hamfests, road races, festivals or other Public Service events). Use may not exceed (3) days in duration or moved outside the normal coordinated area without notifying the State Coordinator. This class is not considered appropriate for regular day-to-day conversational use. Trustees who wish their repeater to be used in such a manner should re-coordinate the repeater in the Shared-Limited Coverage Class or the regular, coordinated segment of the 70cm band. However, day-to-day communications related to ARES / RACES or other service organization activities are permitted. (I.e.: traffic handling, training, nets, etc.) 6. Repeater may be moved under the following conditions: a. In a DECLARED Communications Emergency. Cooperation with any other emergency repeater must be observed and deference must be given to ANY repeater that is operating within its coordination. Notification of the State Coordinator should be made at the earliest convenience. b. For a NON-Emergency Public Service or Amateur Radio related event, with PRIOR notification and approval of the State Coordinator. (If moved, CTCSS Tones must be changed or added, if necessary, to avoid interference with other coordinated repeaters.)
